Why is Protease used in the production of baby Food?  When babies are born, food is difficult to digest so with the help of protease it allows the protein to be predigestedWhy is Lipase used in the production baby Food?  Lipase is created in the stomach, mouth and pancreas, it helps to break down fatty foods so it can be easily absorbed in the intestinesWhy is Amylase used in the production baby Food? Amylase is produced in salivary glands called salivary amylase, this break down starchy food into smaller carbohydrates. There also is Pancreatic amylase which finishes the breakdown of carbohydrates making glucose.Human milk vs. Powdered milkWhen babies are born they need to intake a lot a protein in order to help with their growth. For example, breast milk has a couple proteases such as Trypsin and Elastase. Trypsin is an enzyme located in the digestive system in the small intestine and breaks down dietary proteins, Elastase also an enzyme that is produced in the pancreas in the digestive system and is a serine protease just like Trypsin. Both Trypsin and Elastase hydrolyzes proteins meaning it is able to break down proteins with the help of H2O. Now with Powdered infant milk unlike regular breast milk that helps protects babies from illnesses, the powdered milk doesn’t. All about fats!There are many types of baby food that contain protein, sugar and also fat! Fat plays a very important role in a babies brain cells. For example baby food containing avocado, yogurt, fish and cheese. Since the brain is mostly made of fat it is essential for babies to get enough fat in their foods. Good fats in baby food would include apples, pear, butternut squash or just anything with unsaturated fat which mean it is liquid at room temperature. Bad fats would be the saturated fats like butter or dark meat. Giving babies a sufficient amount of good fat can ensure the baby will stay healthy. As Lipase is present when fat enters the body it maintains the flow of nutrients Starch in baby food Baby foods like oatmeal, rice, porridge and crackers contain lots of starch which Amylase is able to breakdown.
