I would
say these test results are quite precise. This test aligns with my relationships
and favorite activities in that, I do enjoy making things run smoothly within
my family and friends circle. If something is wrong, I like to address it
immediately and make things right. I am a crack up and smarty pants, I love having
fun and joking where ever I am. I am a very down to earth, honest, loyal, and
trust worthy person. I am a rule follower and I do my best to cooperate with
others in activities that I partake in. My career and this personality test are
100% accurate. I have been the charge nurse for my unit for 3 years, and take
my duties and responsibilities very seriously. I don’t like to let anyone down,
especially my coworkers or manager. At work, I am very structured and organized,
as the test mentions, I am not one for winging it. I am a people pleaser and
like to make sure others are having a good day over myself. One distinct
difference with myself and this test is that I do not look before I leap. I
tend to leap, then look at the sometimes-unfortunate choices I have made.

A barrier
that could be a potential challenge when working with others of opposite
personality types could be that I may be taken advantage of. Like mentioned, I
am a people pleaser and want to make everyone happy and do the thankless jobs.
Another barrier that may pose a challenge with other personality types is that
I am a rule follower and there are many out there that are rule breakers.

The western model of health
and healing is motivated by 4 dimensions that encompass health and wholeness in
a human. Through these dimensions, the western model emphasizes the importance
of overall well-being, life satisfaction, physical health, and happiness
according to Parti (2013). The first dimension focuses on all qualities of
physical health including all the systems in the human body. For wellness in
this dimension, Parti suggest all systems of the body must work together (2013).
The second dimension focuses one one’s beliefs, one’s outlook on life, self-image,
along with many other aspects of life. Dimension 3 focuses on social well-being
involving social relationships with friends, family, and others. Promoting
health and happiness by staying connected with people to care is important. The
fourth and final dimension focuses on spiritual well-being. This meaning of being
associated with something larger than life, provides great meaning to many
people, promoting happiness, health, and fulfillment (Parti, 2013).

The eastern model of health and healing is motivated
by body-mind-spirit interventions. Through a holistic approach and traditional
Chinese medicine, the eastern model has shown to diminish depression and
anxiety and improve mental health according to Chan, Ng, Ho, and Chow (2006). The eastern model heightens
the power of spirituality by promoting one’s individual resilience in opposing
or unfavorable fortune. To be human and promote well-being within the eastern
model, Chan et al (2006) suggests the use of acupressure, tai-chi,
aromatherapy, and even a simple walk to be beneficial to health and healing.

The difference between my
professional presence and the eastern model of health and healing is much
different. My current belief is mostly science. I believe that health and
healing is a matter of fact. While I do believe that staying positive and
hopeful do good for the soul, I do not feel tai-chi or even aromatherapy does
much for health or healing. The body is science, disease is a part of life, and
there are risk factors that can affect the body that can be managed. Eating properly,
getting exercising, and proper sleep are some healthy life choices according to
Odland (2012) to help prevent disease and maintain health and healing. I
believe that if there is disease within a body, that person was determined to
get that disease, unless they can modify their risk factors. If the risk
factors are modified, and the disease is still present, there are medications
and surgical procedures to aid in healing and improved health. If nothing works,
and the disease is still existent, then unfortunately its time to make the best
of the rest of your life. I know that sounds harsh, but that’s truly how I
feel.

I am mindful with my
professional presents and the influence it has on my nursing practice. As I
practice as a nurse, again, I am mater of fact. I talk straight to my patients,
I do not sugar coat many details. I feel my patients respect me for the way I practice,
they know I will not lie or misguide them.  I am real with my patients and do my best not
to mislead them in any way. For this reason, I am also very sympathetic and
talk with the patients under my care.

Physical: My goal is to
stay physically active.

My goal is to stay physically healthy.

Vital/Rhythmic: My goal
is to be prepared and organized.

                           My
goal is to maintain closeness with my family and friends.

Mental/Emotional: My goal
is to maintain mental and emotional stability.

                              My
goal is to continue to be mentally active.

Biographical/Spiritual: My
goal is to continue to have a positive outlook on life.

My goal is to not say yes to every situation presented to me.

To achieve my physical
goals of being physically healthy and active, includes eating healthy by
planning meals ahead and shopping for healthy foods. Exercising and planning
realistic workout programs based on my time and availability, will help to not
set myself up for failure. Being physically healthy and active will keep me
from becoming fatigue and prevent illness. A challenge I will face is that I
hate exercising.

To achieve my
vital/rhythmic goals of being prepared, organized, and maintaining closeness
with my family and friends, includes time management. Organizing and planning time
for my school work and my job as a nurse is beneficial. Keeping in contact with
my family and friends will help to keep me grounded and prepared for what lies
ahead of me.

To achieve my
mental/emotional goals of maintaining my mental and emotional stability as well
as staying mentally active will maintain balance in my life. Reading and
keeping up with my school work will help me to stay mentally healthy. To assist
in my mental health, finding time to decompress and allow myself to regroup will
be beneficial. Finding that time will be challenging.

To achieve my
biographical/spiritual goal, includes to continue to have a positive outlook on
life as well as not saying yes to every situation presented to me. I think god
thoughts and have a positive mindset most of the time. However, saying no will
be problematic for me. If I say yes at work like I have always done, it take
time away from every other goal I have set to accomplish.

Home health care
provides an optimal healing environment

being in a home setting, receiving direct patient care, this allows your mind
to think about your hopes, intentions, and your potential outcomes. Being at
home permits your mind to be free, opened, and honest.

Interpersonal
environment: Being in the home setting allows for family and friends to visit
as you want. Having friends and family at your leisure, at times is the reason
and course for healing according to the Samueli Institute (2016). The Samueli Institute goes on to encourage
interpersonal factors that propel individuals in their daily life (2016).

Behavioral Environment:

External environment: In
the patient’s home, The color of the walls, the lighting, the noise level,
plants even help to promote a healthy optimal healing environment (The Samueil

I
am currently a home healthcare nurse who provides direct patient care. To
promote professional presents in my current healthcare setting via their
internal environment I will encourage the patient to possibly arrange an area outside
(or inside as an external environment) that allows them to think and be alone,
possibly a garden where they can reflect on their beliefs, health, or illness.
In the home to promote an interpersonal environment, I would urge the patient
to have friends and family over. I would tell them that having visitors helps healing.
Encouraging the patient to help care for themselves promotes the optimal
behavioral environment, and support breathing exercises. To enhance the
external optimal environment, I would ensure they have the proper lighting
needed for healthy healing while relaxing, possibly dim the lights for rest or
comfort. I may also offer the patient with educational material on essential
