“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”Nelson Mandela changed south Africa, from nothing to a great country.  Nelson Mandela is an inspiring person,he is a global peacemaker that stopped racism in Africa.He went through a lot of struggles but never gave up. Nelson Mandela had many positive traits in his life. He respected every one equally and gave a chance to everyone. He won many awards and changed south Africa. Nelson Mandela  was one of the greatest and most inspiring person that ever lived.  Nelson Mandela went through a lot struggles before becoming who he is. His original name was Rolihlahla. He was born on July 18 1998 in the a village of Mvezo in south africa. When he was 12 his father died. He attended primary school in Qunu. There his teacher Miss.Mdingane asked gave him the name Nelson because he had to have a christian name. Mandela began his studies for a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University College of Fort Hare but  was expelled for joining in a student protest. In 1942, he completes BA degree through the University of South Africa (UNISA)and in 1989, he completed LLB degree and graduated. In 1942 he joined African National Congress to fight discrimination towards black people in Africa. He thought everybody should be treated the same and have the same education. On October 9 1963, Mandela joined 10 others on trial for sabotage in what became known as the Rivonia Trial. While facing the death penalty his words to the court at the end of his famous “Speech from the Dock” on  April 20 1964 became immortalised. On 11 June 1964 Mandela and seven other accused, were convicted and the next day were sentenced to life imprisonment on Robben Island. While in prison his mom and oldest son died. He was not allowed to go to their funerals. He stayed in prison for 27 years and then released on Sunday, February 11 1990. On 10 May 1994, he became first black president and South Africa’s first democratically elected President. He stepped down after one term in 1999. He died at home on December 5 2013. Nelson Mandela had a very hard life but he still became who he is.Nelson mandela had many positive traits in his life. He was really brave and never gave up. When he gave speeches, he was also determined and was never was scared. He respected everyone and thought everybody deserves a chance. In prison he never gave up. He respected himself, so he never worked fast and was always at his own pace. He made requests to the prison guards and made them respect him in a good way. After he came out of prison, he became president and helped South Africa  grow. After one term as president, he made the Nelson Mandela foundation. He helped that foundation grow too. Nelson mandela had many positive traits and acts , that helped many people.Nelson Mandela won many awards and had a impact on south africa and the world. After coming out of prison,he worked to achieve human rights and a better future for everyone in South Africa. On May 10 1994 he became the first black president. In 1990 stepped down after one term. He then established the Nelson Mandela foundation. During he lifetime he won many awards. He received over 260 awards in his lifetime. One of them was the nobel peace prize which he won in 1993. He also got Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2002. Nelson mandela helped south africa grow and impacted  the world.Nelson Mandela is a global peacemaker that is an inspiring person. He helped south africa grow and had many accomplishments. He had many obstacles in his life but he got through them. “During my lifetime I have dedicated my life to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal for which I hope to live for and to see realised. But, My Lord, if it needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”
